i cannot believe i am in my graduating grad school girlboss era... girlboss not necessarily meaning ultimate success and thriving in life, but we can talk more about what i mean by that later. i'll be posting a more in-depth reflection of what this past year and grad school was like in july of 2022, but for now, i hope this brain dump suffices
i have been genuinely overwhelmed with just how much has changed in my life in the past nine months. from moving across the country, reconnecting with family, and starting my dream grad program... i’ve experienced so much growth in terms of my creative endeavors, passions, and the people i’m surrounded by. at the same time i have had to deal with crippling burnout, anxiety, lethargy, and let’s not even get started on the imposter syndrome.

that being said, it’s taught me about how life is never black and white. you can have incredible moments and experiences, while also having ones that are just as bad and debilitating. i’ve come to realize that my successes aren’t made any less significant just because the process of getting there was harder than anticipated. if anything, it makes them all the more impressive.
there’s no growth without challenges, so (coming from my very privileged perspective) many hardships and difficulties are only indicative of a future version of yourself that all the wiser.
here is also your reminder to view your journey as your own, and not through the lens of what those around you are doing or accomplishing. one persons success is not an indication of your failure, and speaking from experience- for every one person you look at and aspire to be like, there’s two or three people doing the same with you. your life is not measured by the milestones, but rather by the days in between and the processes of getting there. it’s measured by how you grow as a person with each second of the day, regardless of whether you share that growth publicly or internalize it for your own safekeeping.
you are accomplished. you are alive. you are loved. i am proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself too.
