Italy
Milan, Venice, Rome
After Budapest, we took a morning flight to Milan (not pictured below).
The next day we took a day trip to Lake Cuomo. We had gotten separated from each other in the most stressful way, end ended up exploring the island in groups of two instead of our normal group of four. (Stay tuned for a potential storytime on what happened.) On our last day, we went to the top of the Duomo di Milano.
We had booked all of our hostels already, but we hadn't bought our train tickets to Venice, Rome, or Switzerland. So, we bought our train tickets to Venice frantically on the second to last day and made it to my favorite part of Italy.
Venice was relaxing, intriguing, and felt the most authentic of all the cities we had traveled in the country. After three days of a lot of wandering, Venetian mask scavenging, an expensive gondola ride, and our swinging chairs in front of our hostel- it was time to make our way to our last, and most famous Italian city, Rome.
I spent my birthday in Rome, ate a ridiculous amount of tiramisu, explored the Colosseo, and walked through the Roman ruins. And with that our run through Italy was done! :)
